Grant Opportunities to Improve College Access


Michigan College Access Network provides grant funding to communities, direct service programs, colleges, and schools for innovative work. We support those who are helping place college within reach for more Michigan youth.

All MCAN grants must be submitted through SurveyMonkey Apply.

  • If you are already registered with SurveyMonkey Apply, then please log in using your username and password.

  • Follow the on-screen directions to create your account and log into the system. 
    • *Please note that all grant applications and all required reporting on accepted grant applications are processed using this system.

Programs

LCAN Implementation Grant

Implementation Grants of up to $60,000 over two years ($30,000 annually) are available for developing Local College Access Networks (LCANs) that have already engaged in an LCAN planning process.

Innovative Program Grant

Innovative Program Grants fund programming that increases college readiness, enrollment and completion in local communities and across the state through grants of up to $10,000.

LCAN Planning Grant

LCAN Planning Grants are available for up to $20,000 to conduct a strategic planning process to organize and initiate a community-based Local College Access Network (LCAN).

High School Innovation Grant (Aspire, Activate, Align Series)

Accepting applications from Nov 1 2023 12:00 AM (EDT) to Jan 31 2024 12:00 AM (EST)

Grant funds are available to support high schools focused on changing systems that perpetuate inequity in postsecondary pathways. High schools are eligible to apply for a three-year, $25,000 High School Innovation Grant series. This series is meant to equip schools with the tools necessary to complete subsequent cycles of the grant process independently, beyond the first three years of participation.

Michigan Center for Adult College Success Innovation Investment Awards

Accepting applications from May 1 2024 12:00 AM (EDT) to Jul 15 2024 11:59 PM (EDT)

The Michigan Center for Adult College Success (The Center) is requesting proposals from Michigan postsecondary institutions seeking to implement innovative solutions for improving persistence and completion rates among adult learners over the age of 25. The Center is making $5 million available in Innovation Investment Awards through a competitive award process. The Innovation Investment Awards (IIA) will provide support to institutions that are committed to planning for, improving upon, or scaling implementation of promising reforms of policy and practice associated with the elimination of equity gaps and improved completion rates for adult learners. Interested institutions must follow the instructions below and submit their grant application by 11:59 PM on July 15, 2024. Proposals submitted may not exceed $1 million over two years. Applicants are encouraged to use the provided template to prepare a draft proposal, then submit the final application through the Innovation Investment Awards website.

Reconnect Expansion Outreach Campaign Grant

EXTENDED DEADLINE: The Reconnect Expansion Outreach Campaign grant is aimed at increasing the enrollment of adult learners age 21-24 in community colleges. This campaign will be executed through community-based organizations.

College Bound Michigan 2024-25

College Bound Michigan (CBMI): 3 Initiatives, 1 Campaign, 1 Goal-60% attainment. CBMI brings together all of the statewide initiatives (College Month, College Cash Campaign, and Decision Day) into one campaign and one-sign up process!

AdviseMI Host Site Application 2025-2026

Proposals are being accepted for high school host sites interested in hosting an AdviseMI Adviser beginning in 2025-2026

Your Future Matters: College and Career Planning Course Partner Site
